“Vivir con causa” - Read Pepe Mujica’s philosophy. One must find a reason to live.
“It could be music, science, anything. Living to pay fees? That’s not living. Because living means dreaming, believing in something superior, in something creative…”
Whatever you do, act with care. Care for yourself, your cause, your loved ones, those who you don’t know.
When in doubt, hug it out. Being angry and mean leads to nothing.
When in doubt, take the stairs.
Active interest, or no interest.
Ass to the chair or legs moving.
Clean the dishes as soon as you get up from the table.
Either you are building or you are destroying.
Be an interesting person (to yourself!). Be curious.
You are not the center of the universe. This is water. Control your default narcissism.
Ask yourself why? often.
Exercise, books, and loved ones will cure most ills.
Don’t confuse your feelings with your state in life.
Don’t cook with plastic cutting boards.
Put your work out there. Success is not accidental, e.g. Andy Weir, Anthony Bourdain, and many others.
Fears are always irrational. Andy Weir writes about spaceships but is afraid of planes.
Negativity is a hindrance.
Strive for high energy.
Slow down.
Nobody (or nothing) is blocking you.
Don’t go out of your way to make things harder.
Remember you will die.
We are easy to fool and quick to fear.
Be careful of the stories you repeatedly tell yourself.
Give meaning, instead of finding it.
“Flojo trabaja doble.” (Latino saying: The lazy person works twice. Which I’ve found to be true every time.)
Know when to take yourself seriously and when not to.
Lose the chains.
The most valuable skill in the world is to learn to think for yourself.
